Lousy Production

We’re working on a slide show for an event next week. We recorded the narrator on two different days. I was listening to the audio today and day 1 audio is excellent. But day 2? The woman sounds like she’s 20 feet away from the microphone.
I’m no audio engineer, but I tried working over the bad audio in Audition with little success. The troubling part is I don’t know what the problem is. Both recording days were in the same location. We’re back out on Thursday to see if day 3 can measure up to day 1.
To add to the frustration, the slide show software I’m using, ProShow Gold, is hanging. I did a fairly exhaustive search for software with which you can easily create Pan and Zoom effects (a.k.a Ken Burns effect) and this is what I found. It wasn’t too expensive. I’m starting to understand why.
Grumble.
